A very rare Meissen blue-ground waste bowl

circa 1735
Reserved on each side with a shaped, purple-edged quatrefoil panel painted with a standing phoenix facing a flowering bush on one side and similar flowers on the reverse, a single flower in the well, brown-edged rim, 16.3cm diam., 8.2cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, impressed Dreher's mark oo for J.G. Kühnel
