A Russian 1841 Pattern Dragoon Trooper's Sabre Commemorating Sebastopol
Reign Of Nicholas I (1825-1855), Dated 1853

With shortened curved fullered single-edged blade (point rusted) etched and gilt '1854 Commemorating Sebastopol 1855' in Russian along one side, the back of the forte etched 'Zlatoust Arms Factory Oct. 1853' in Russian, regulation brass hilt comprising knuckle-guard extending to form a downcurved rear quillon, pommel-cap, and spirally-grooved fishskin-covered grip bound with a strand of twisted copper wire, in its wood-lined leather-covered scabbard (some wear) with brass mounts and ring for suspension
