A Scottish Regimental Dirk Of The Gordon Highlanders
By R. & H.B. Kirkwood, 66 & 68 Thistle St., Edinburgh, Dated 1886

With bright fullered blade notched along the back edge over half its length and etched along both sides with the owner's crest, motto and foliated monogram 'LA' above the date '9th November 1886', white-metal mounted swelling rootwood grip fluted on the inside and carved with basketweave set with silver studs, mounts embossed and chased with thistles and including pommel pierced with foliage and set with a foiled piece of faceted glass in imitation of a cairngorm, in original wood-lined scabbard covered in black leather (some crazing), the chape and mounts for the by-knife and fork embossed and chased with thistles, the locket with regimental badge of the Gordon highlanders, and the by-knife and fork en suite with the dirk
