An Italian Spear Or Partizan
16th Century

With long tapering double-edged blade (light pitting overall) of shallow flattened diamond section struck with lines of small 'crow's feet' marks at the base on each side, tapering socket of faceted circular section deeply cusped on each side at the top beneath the blade, and later side-straps, on wooden staff of octagonal section (some splits) with conical iron shoe and studded overall with iron nails each with fluted brass head (some missing)
