A Very Rare 50-Bore D.B. Side-By-Side Wheel-Lock Holster Pistol
Dutch Or German, Dated 1634

With tapering octagonal barrels (perhaps shortened) each incised with an 'M' on the top flat of the breech, and each with its own slender tapering tang, flat bevelled locks each engraved 'MM' and fitted with external wheel, engraved cock and cock-spring, and manually operated pan-cover, the front of the right lock dated 1634, stained fruitwood (?) full stock (minor defects and repairs), flat iron trigger-guard, brass pommel chased with interlaced foliated strapwork on a punched ground, short brass ramrod-pipes (one later), unusual sliding safety-catch to the rear of the trigger, and later wooden ramrod (some wear throughout, small hole in right barrel)
