A Turkish 18-Bore Silver-Mounted Flintlock Holster Pistol
19th Century

With russet barrel inlaid along the top with a spurious silver inscription, silver-inlaid stepped breech, border engraved flat bevelled lock decorated with scrolling foliage, cock and steel en suite, figured full stock inlaid with silver wire scrollwork, mounts comprising cast and chased side-plate decorated with foliage within a scaled border and against a punched ground, pommel and trigger-guard en suite and each involving trophies of arms within foliated medallions, trigger-guard with foliate finial, butt bound with twisted silver wire and set with two large pinned silver plates each embossed and chased with an elaborate trophy of arms and foliage, long muzzle-sleeve en suite and bound with three bands of filigree, and spirally embossed silver ramrod-pipe (rear finial and ramrod missing)
