A Turkish 20-Bore White-Metal Mounted Flintlock Holster Pistol
19th Century

With russet sighted barrel stamped with spurious signature and maker's mark on the top flat at the breech, silver fore-sight, border engraved tang grooved for sighting, border engraved flat bevelled English export lock faintly inscribed 'London Warranted' and decorated with gamebirds at the stepped tail (cock repaired), rainproof pan and roller, figured full stock (fore-end with minor damage) inlaid with silver wire borders enclosing an engraved crescent and flower-head behind the rear ramrod-pipe, the back of the butt with two further crescents and numerous flower-heads en suite, mounts cast and chased with flowering foliage in relief and comprising side-plate involving a bird, escutcheon-plate, spurred pommel with separate cap, trigger-guard and rear ramrod-pipe each with large finial, trigger cast and pierced with a monster, foliate engraved silver fore-end cap, and ramrod, probably original (tip missing, barrel and lock with some wear and light pitting)
