An Unusual Indian Combined Circular Dhal And Percussion Pistol
The Shield 19th Century

Of convex steel, the outer surface with faint traces of gold-damascened decoration, applied steel rim and four later fluted brass ovals, the latter framed by an applied brass serpentine interlaced riband bordered by applied brass vines and centred on a short barrel with brass mount, the interior fitted with an engraved French back-action mechanism from a gun, and two iron bracers, one incorporating the sprung mechanism release (some light pitting and surface rust)
