With very finely watered tapering sharply-pointed blade with bright reinforced cutting-edge, the back of the blade chiselled with three converging lines emerging from a gold-damascened fleur-de-lys at the top, the forte with a gold-damascened triangular panel on each side, unusually large beaked ivory grip finely carved overall in low relief with borders and vertical panels containing running designs of flower-heads and foliage, all against a punched ground, and surmounted by a small brass suspension mount, in its original wooden scabbard covered in burgundy velvet (worn) with gilt-copper locket and chape (gilding worn), each with pierced and cusped border and pricked with a design of foliage, the locket with pierced hinged suspension mount, and the chape with bud-shaped finial; together with a modern suspension chain (2)
