With blued sighted barrel with matted sighting flat, signed in full at the breech and rifled with six spiral grooves, folding leaf back-sight calibrated from 50 to 150 yards and each with vertical platinum line, blued foliate scroll engraved action (defective) numbered '14242' above 'Martini's Patent' and stamped with patentee's mark on one side, cocking indicator and pivoting safety-catch, chequered figured butt and detachable fore-end, the latter with dark horn cap, iron mounts comprising butt-plate, foliate scroll engraved trigger-guard and under-lever, and some original finish (some rust patination and pitting), Birmingham proof marks
