With russet sighted barrels (the right barrel bulged) signed in full along the rib and inscribed 'Patent' between engraved lines in front of the foliate engraved 'doll's head', foliate scroll engraved tang with chequered top-lever en suite and engraved 'Patent', signed foliate scroll engraved action and border engraved locks, dolphin hammers and mounts, figured butt, chequered grip (split) and detachable fore-end, the latter with moulded dark horn tip, and vacant silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons (replaced, some wear and rust patination), Birmingham proof marks
