An 80-Bore Air Rifle
By Jover Junr., No. 65 New Bond Street, London, Circa 1800

With rifled octagonal sighted russet barrel signed in full on inlaid gold scrolls at the breech (back-sight missing), breech with gold line, engraved tang (repaired), border engraved flat bevelled lock signed in an oval against a martial trophy and decorated with foliage on the tail, later cocking-lever engraved with scrolling foliage, figured half-stock (butt with minor split on one side) with cheekpiece and chequered grip, russet iron mounts engraved en suite with the lock and including scroll trigger-guard, spherical brass reservoir with knurled medial band, shield-shaped vacant silver escutcheon, silver fore-end cap, and brass ramrod with threaded horn tip (damaged, some wear overall)
