An 80-Bore Air Rifle
By Charles Parker, Bury St. Edmds., Circa 1835

With rebrowned turn-off twist sighted polygroove rifled barrel signed in gothic letters along the breech (back-sight replaced), foliate scroll engraved action indistinctly signed on the left side, pierced cocking-lever (probably an old working replacement), circular loading aperture with transverse breech-block operated by a sprung tap, figured butt and fore-end, chequered grip, foliate engraved iron butt-plate and scroll trigger-guard, vacant silver escutcheon and fore-end cap, detachable spherical iron reservoir with knurled medial band, and later brass-tipped ramrod (some wear and pitting overall); together with a contemporary brass-mounted iron pump with turned swelling wooden handles (2)
