A Rare Indian Katar, And An Indian Daggercane
The First 17th/18th Century

With broad double-edged blade (some wear and pitting) reinforced at the point, the forte on each side with finely watered recessed panel chiselled with a falcon with gold-damascened details and highlighted with silver bots (some missing), iron hilt covered in silver, chiselled with running flowering foliage overall and comprising tapering side-bars with pierced beaded borders, and fluted grips each swelling at the centre and joined by two writhen beads; the last of silver-damascened iron, in three sections of tapering octagonal section, the handle with makara-head terminal, threaded and unscrewing to reveal a knife-blade (2)
