A Dutch 25-Bore Wheel-Lock Holster Pistol
Circa 1650

With contemporary three-stage barrel with petalled brass fore-sight, octagonal breech cut with rectangular flutes and engraved 'In Prag' (worn) along the top flat, pointed tang carrying a foliate brass back-sight and retained by a later screw from beneath, rounded lock with pointed tail and retained by three later screws, slightly domed external wheel with a hook at its base, pan-cover release button, and cock-bridle secured from within, fruitwood full stock with fluted full stock (partly replaced and repaired along one side in front of the lock) carved with foliage against a punched ground around the barrel tang and on each side of the butt, a carved flower-head opposite the lock, iron trigger-guard, iron band around the ovoidal staghorn pommel, and later iron-capped ramrod (some wear and light pitting)
