With two-stage barrel slightly flared at the muzzle, turned at the girdle and with octagonal breech (touch-hole bushed in brass), plain tang characteristic foliate engraved lock with maker's initials 'D.P.' on the inside, moulded figured full stock (fore-end and ramrod-pipe replaced), foliate engraved silver mounts including original spurred pommel (side-plate, escutcheon, trigger and trigger-guard replaced), and later ramrod
