With fixed two-stage sighted cannon barrel turned at the girdle, octagonal breech signed in full in silver, tang with foliate finial and incorporating the back-sight, integral border engraved lock with rounded tail, moulded figured rounded butt with foliage behind the barrel tang, gilt-brass mounts comprising cast and chased foliate side-plate, pommel-cap engraved with two grotesque masks within foliate scrollwork, trigger-guard engraved with scrolling foliage on the bow and incorporating the rear baluster ramrod-pipe with aperture for a ramrod retaining catch (missing), baluster ramrod-pipe, later ramrod, and much original gilding (iron parts with some rust patination)
