A Cased Pair Of Continental 32-Bore Percussion Target Pistols
No. 534, Mid-19th Century, Almost Certainly Liège

With octagonal sighted barrels of distinctive etched twist damascus pattern each rifled with fourteen grooves and deeply etched 'Tourmière A Rabasteus' in gothic script along the top flat, bright foliate engraved breeches and tangs, the latter each incorporating a back-sight, bright foliate scroll engraved locks, hammers and mounts, the last comprising shaped pommels each with hinged oval butt-trap cover, trigger-guards, and fore-end caps also forming the ramrod-entries, lightly figured half-stocks with fluted butts, and in fine condition: in original fitted rosewood case lined in plum velvet (some discolouration) with full accessories comprising powder-flask with embossed copper body, nipple-key with threaded octagonal handle and fluted bone cap, barrel-shaped wad-box, and bullet mould, the interior of the lid with tooled and gilt decoration, the exterior with oval vacant brass escutcheon
