18th/19th Century

The steel head with six rounded flanges, rounded finial and faceted socket, decorated overall with gold-damascened foliage, borders of foliage and lines enclosing dots, and long tubular grip damascened with gold scrollwork, on wooden haft covered in red and green velvet (worn) with reinforcing strap en suite with the grip and secured by dome-headed brass nails
