A Liège 32-Bore Percussion Pistol
Mid-19th Century

With octagonal sighted barrel of unusual twist damascus pattern and rifled with sixteen grooves, sparsely engraved breech, foliate scroll engraved tang incorporating the back-sight, border engraved back-action lock and hammer en suite, figured half-stock carved with overlapping scales on the butt and with a border of foliage around the ovoidal pommel, white-metal mounts comprising butt-trap with hinged cover formed as a scallop shell, trigger-guard engraved with scrolling foliage, foliate engraved fore-end cap, vacant white-metal escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, and horn-tipped ramrod, possibly original, Liège proof
