An Unusual Cased Pair Of Liège 50-Bore Percussion Box-Lock Pistols
Mid-19th Century

With bright turn-off octagonal sighted barrels (minor pitting), bright foliate engraved actions, hammers and folding triggers, rounded ebony butts with ovoidal pommels and engraved domed iron butt-caps, and small shield-shaped vacant silver escutcheon: in original fitted ebonised case lined in blue velvet with tooled borders and with full accessories comprising combined bullet mould and nipple-key, lead ladle with faceted wooden handle, and turned circular cap-box, the interior of the lid with tooled and gilt decoration, the exterior with shaped vacant brass escutcheon within a border of double brass stringing, Liège proof
