Of iron, with head of eight thin flanges of rounded outline surmounted by a faceted bud-shaped terminal, on long slender haft of octagonal section, and characteristic khanda hilt extending over the flattened haft on each side and with short pierced foliate quillons beneath the guard, each with a stepped reinforce, the guard bent-up and linked to the disc-shaped pommel by the knuckle-guard, the pommel surmounted by a bud-shaped finial on a mount pierced with trefoils, cord-bound swelling grip, later padded textile liner (slightly damaged), and much of its original silvering (some rust patination overall)
