A Rare George II 28-Bore 1756 Pattern Flintlock Sea Service Pistol
By Galton, Samuel Of Birmingham, Dated 1759

With plain russet barrel (shortened) and tang, flat bevelled lock (mechanism mostly missing) with 'GR' crowned and signed and dated across the tail, flat bevelled ring-neck cock and steel cut-off straight along the top, figured full stock (shortened, some wear, bruising and minor damage) with apron around the tang, regulation brass mounts including trigger-guard numbered '3/27' on the bow, and forward ramrod-pipe (belt hook and ramrod missing, iron parts rust patinated overall), King's proof marks
