With plain russet sighted barrel (some light pitting overall) and tang, dated border engraved flat lock with 'Tower' and 'V-R' crowned on the tail, chained nipple-protector, figured full stock (some bruising and repaired worm holes overall) stamped with inspector's marks and 'Keen' behind the trigger-guard tang, supplier's name 'J. Abbott' opposite the lock, and with Board of Ordnance ownership mark above 'III.C.R.' on one side of the butt, regulation brass mounts including butt-plate engraved 'LTC G 31' over a stamped '73', trigger-guard numbered '73', later sling loops, Lovell bayonet-catch, and iron ramrod (mostly replaced)
