Of blackened iron, with rounded one piece skull (pierced with three holes) originally with ring-shaped finial on a domed circular washer (now missing) and with plume-holder at the rear, riveted bluntly-pointed fixed fall (two holes) with turned edge, pierced for an adjustable bar-nasal (missing), and painted with inventory number 'W.M.I.45', retaining the upper lame of the neck-guard, and with dome-headed rivets
