Emil Rosner (1921-2001)
Born in Vienna, his early life was spent in Piestany, a spa town in Czechoslovakia where his father was a doctor. He studied engineering, first in Brno and later with the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company in Abadan as a refrigeration engineer. He settled in London in the 1950's, taking British nationality and starting a motor company. Following on from his occupation, he was a keen collector of Gilbern cars, and was president of the the Gilbern Owner's Club for thirty years. He was also an excellent pistol shot, and his gun collection had a particular interest in design, particularly those patents of the mid-19th century
