A 50-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Pistol
By Winfield, Circa 1765

With three-stage turn-off barrel, border engraved action signed on a foliate scroll on one side and engraved with foliage on the other (action defective, top jaw and screw replaced, steel an old replacement), sliding trigger-guard safety-catch engraved with a flower-head on the bow, and flat-sided butt (some bruising) inlaid with silver wire scrollwork (some losses, some pitting overall), Tower private proof marks
