A 25-Bore Flintlock Pistol
Signed I. Collins, Mid-Late 18th Century

With earlier Continental sighted barrel in three stages, octagonal breech signed along the top flat and cut with a series of slender flutes beyond, plain tang, rounded lock (cock and steel associated, top jaw and screw later) now engraved 'London', figured full stock (some bruising, fore-end repaired on one side) carved with a shell behind the barrel tang, rounded flat-sided butt, border engraved steel mounts comprising rounded butt-cap, trigger-guard with a flower-head on the bow, slender trigger-plate with acorn finial, turned ramrod-pipes, and later ramrod (some wear overall)
