A Rare Neapolitan 32-Bore Brass-Mounted Miquelet-Lock Belt Pistol
Circa 1760

With two-stage barrel with turned silver muzzle ring and an inlaid silver design in front of the turned girdle, octagonal breech inlaid with silver line borders and struck with the mark of the Royal Manufactory at Naples (Neue Støckel 817) between fleur-de-lys marks, a cross mark beyond on the top flat, foliate scroll engraved tang, characteristic border engraved patilla lock engraved with scrollwork, figured full stock and turned ball-pommel decorated with inlaid brass panels pierced and engraved with foliage and secured by brass pins, the remaining surfaces profusely set with numerous silver pins, brass side-plate and fore-end cap each engraved with foliage against a hatched ground, iron spur trigger-guard, tapering iron belt hook on slender iron side-bar, and iron ramrod
