An English Bridle-Gauntlet For The Left Arm
Early-Mid 17th Century

Of blackened steel, with elbow-length cuff of one piece with turned upper edge bordered by double engraved lines enclosing a row of domed lining rivets, five overlapping metacarpal lames articulated on domed rivets and each engraved with double line border, the front one embossed over the knuckles, overlapping finger scales (one missing) en suite and riveted to leathers, separate thumb-defence of six plates, and retaining its original buff-leather lining glove (slightly incomplete, some damage)
