A Fine Spanish Knife
By Pedro Vizem Perez, Cvchillero Del Rey. No. Sr. En Albazete, Ao De 1693

Entirely of bright steel, with broad single-edged blade and beaked point, the back edge on each side etched with scrolling foliage inhabited by a bird, flat rectangular grip signed and dated over each side within etched lines and foliage, the upper edge fluted along both sides, the lower edge between cusps, and with a scroll-shaped terminal; together with an early bronze dagger blade in excavated condition, of tapering double-edged flattened diamond section with slender medial ridge along each side, the forte pierced with three holes along both sides for attachment to the hilt (missing) (2)
