With cowhorn body of curved flattened triangular form, the front engraved with a Bacchanalian scene in a landscape involving an embracing couple and a satyr armed with a falchion, the sides with stylised ropework, the back with concentric circles, iron mounts including basal mount with hinged ovoidal cover secured by a wing-headed screw, turned horn nozzle with domed horn cover incorporating a slender pricker, and two fixed rings for suspension
