The First 10th/11th Century, The Second Early 15th Century
Of iron, the first with slender heel-band of triangular section chiselled on each side with a stylised monster-head, pairs of incised lines beyond, pierced rectangular terminals with scrolled ends, and tapering ovoidal goad with short spike; the second with slender tapering downcurved heel-band with flattened figure-eight terminals and high triangular back-scrolled crest, short triangular neck, star-shaped rowel, and retaining traces of original tinning (both with some pitting) (2)
