10th/11th Century

In excavated condition, with broad tapering double-edged blade, hilt comprising short robust slightly arched quillons with rounded ends incised with three vertical lines on each side, flat sharply tapering tang, and flattened pommel of two-piece 'tea-cosy' form incised with vertical lines en suite with the quillons
