With broad tapering double-edged blade incised with indistinct Solingen maker's name over each side of the forte between stamped maker's marks each in the form of the Temptation, mostly within double line borders and including a running wolf mark on one side, iron guard of line engraved slender bars of rectangular section involving fretted panels pierced with circles and rectangles, the side panels each with 'rams's horn' terminal, fore-guards, conical pommel cut with flutes between lines, and original spirally-grooved fishskin-covered grip retaining the remains of a silk tassel beneath the pommel and leather liner (some pitting overall)
