A Spanish Rapier
Late 17th/Early 18th Century

With slender tapering blade of flattened oval section with central fuller on each side of the forte stamped 'Jacop Erach Hirn' between 'X' marks, hilt comprising border engraved asymmetrical upturned shells, slender curved arms secured by screws (one missing), vertically recurved quillons with turned button terminals, knuckle-guard en suite and with central spherical feature, faceted globular pommel, and swelling octagonal grip engraved with a central foliate oval on each flat (some surface patination overall)
