A Rare Russian Dagger
Mid-19th Century, Probably Zlatoust

With Persian watered steel blade double-edged at the slightly clipped-back point, steel hilt of kard form etched and gilt with shaped panels of scrolling foliage around the beaked pommel and base, and with small button finial, in original wooden scabbard recovered in plum velvet with shaped locket and chape en suite with the hilt and retaining traces of original blueing, the locket with ring for suspension
