An Indian Flintlock Blunderbuss
19th Century

With russet two-stage twist barrel widely flared at the muzzle, octagonal breech between brass lines (worn), plain tang (retaining screw missing), russet rounded East India Company lock (action defective) signed 'Moore' and with mark of the East India Company on the tail, figured hardwood full stock (old splits and minor damage) with chequered grip and inlaid with pinned decorative brass panels and borders (some losses), the butt enriched with inlaid bone florets, each centred on a dot in a circle, brass mounts including shaped plate around the barrel tang, thin iron butt-plate, sling loops (one incomplete), and original iron ramrod (some wear and surface rust overall)
