A Fine Indian Circular Dhal
19th Century

Of shallow convex hide, the outer surface with four brass bosses each rising to a point and with pierced stellate border against green leather backing, finely carved in relief overall with flowering and fruiting foliage centred on a foliate rounded painted in partly gilt polychrome, the outer border en suite, the interior painted with a border of gilt lines, retaining its velvet-covered pad and red woollen bracers (some damage), and in fine condition
34 cm. diam.
