With slightly recurved single-edged blade cut with two narrow fullers along the back for most of its length on each side, one side damascened in gold with shaped panels of foliage (partly damaged by pitting), and on the other with further panels of foliage, two long panels of Arabic calligraphy, almost certainly the owner's and maker's names, and a tughra (all partly damaged by pitting), a silver filigree mount over the forte on each side set with small diamond shapes and pellets, characteristic silver hilt with grip-strap en suite, and 'eared' grips each embossed and chased with foliage against a finely stippled ground, in original wood-lined silver scabbard embossed and chased along each side with trophies and arms and buildings amid foliage and rocailles, one side beneath the locket with the date, an Arabic inscription above, and a pair of pistols between a mace and a dagger beneath, silver-gilt filigree locket set with rows of ovoidal fluted red corals (some missing), chape formed as a monster-head, and small loop for suspension
