With slightly recurved single-edged blade silver-damascened with a long foliate panel along the back on each side enclosing a date 1158 A.H. (?) corresponding to 1745 A.D., Arabic calligraphy, probably the owner's and maker's names, and struck with a bladesmith's mark, and shaped parcel-gilt mount (slightly loose) nielloed with foliage over each side of the forte, the back nielloed with an Arabic inscription, and characteristic 'eared' silver hilt cast and chased with foliage between lines overall, in original wooden scabbard covered in burgundy velvet (worn) with deep silver locket and chape each embossed and chased with panels of symmetrical foliate scrollwork, the former with suspension loop on one side, the latter scaled at the bottom and with monster-head terminal (repaired)
