With curved single-edged blade fullered along the back for most of its length on each side, the characteristic hilt comprising gold-damascened guard (some wear) with downcurved quillons and knuckle-guard each with plummet-shaped terminals, and beaked grip entirely covered in silver embossed and chased with designs of foliage, in original wood-lined silver scabbard (small central section an old replacement) embossed and chased along each side with buildings and a ship amid flowering foliage and C-scrolls, and with three hinged silver suspension loops
