Third Quarter Of the 17th Century
With tapering blade of flattened hexagonal section stamped 'En Toledo' within the fuller on each side of the forte, steel hilt chiselled in low relief and comprising straight quillons interrupted by acanthus knops and with dog-head finials, quillon-block with a Classical martial trophy front and back, knuckle-guard en suite with the quillons, associated globose pommel decorated with trophies of arms and scallop shells and with stepped button, and spirally fluted grip bound with fine twisted brass and steel wire between steel Turk's heads, the deep cup divided into panels pierced with trophies of arms and solid panels decorated with Mars, Minerva, Venus and Cupid, and Leda and the Swan (some scattered surface pitting)
