With sharply tapering blade of stiff diamond section with four deeply cut fullers each pierced with minute circular holes and keyhole slots over most of its length, rectangular ricasso en suite and recessed for the thumb on one side, iron hilt comprising straight slightly swelling quillons of circular section, downbent shell-guard, rounded pommel with flattened button finial, and wooden grip bound with fine twisted copper wire, the guard and pommel encrusted in silver with running flower-heads and foliage against a finely punched ground, in original wooden scabbard covered in green velvet (worn and damaged) with iron locket and chape decorated en suite with the hilt on the outside, the former with suspension loop on the inside, the latter with small spherical terminal, and in fine condition
