Third Quarter Of The 16th Century
With rounded one-piece skull (slight dent on one side) with tall roped comb (old brazed internal repair) bordered by engraved lines on each side, sharply-pointed visor with curved embossed and roped upper edges bordered by a recessed line engraved band, stepped horizontal sights with prominent lower edge en suite, and sprung locking-catch engaging with a hole in the upper-bevor, the button finial also forming a lifting-peg, pivoted on later dome-headed rivets at the same points as the upper bevor, the latter prow-shaped with recessed turned and roped upper-edge, and locking hook-catch on the right engaging with a pierced stud on the lower bevor, the latter shaped to the chin and with further locking hook-catch on the right at the rear, and neck-guard of two overlapping plates front and back (minor patched repairs), the lower borders with line engraved recessed turned and roped borders (some light pitting overall)
