A Continental Ormolu-Hilted Small-Sword With Agate Grip
Circa 1730-40, Possibly Dutch

With tapering blade of flattened hexagonal section retaining traces of etched decoration on both sides at the forte, hilt comprising double shell-guard, fluted quillon-block, faceted arms, rear quillon and knuckle-guard, all cast and chased with foliage and elongated hollowed ovals, faceted agate grip (minor chip) of tapering circular section, and much of its original gilding
