A Dutch Small-Sword With Silver-Encrusted Hilt
Late 17th/Early 18th Century

With earlier sharply tapering blade of flattened hexagonal section with central fuller on each side stamped 'En Toledo' between 'X' marks, characteristic iron hilt decorated overall (some wear) with flowering foliage and basketweave framing male and female portrait busts, bouquets and reclining figures, some representing peace, and somewhat later grip bound with silver ribbon and twisted iron wire
