With tapering 18th century blade (some wear and light pitting) of flattened hexagonal section, the forte of flattened oval section etched on both sides with designs of strapwork and foliage including cut ovals, hilt cast and chased with figures and masks within foliage against a chequer-board ground, the spaces alternately plain and punched with a line of minute dots, and comprising side-loop with double calyx at the centre framing a silver plate finely pierced and engraved on each side with scrolling foliage involving a winged demi-figure and a monster's head, lobed rear quillon, knuckle-guard, globular pommel with button, and later cord-bound leather-covered grip bound with twisted iron wire
