With tapering double-edged blade (some areas of pitting), forte of slightly hollowed flattened hexagonal section finely etched and gilt over each side with scrollwork, comets, an orb and cross, a dragon, a lion, hearts, cross sceptres, stars and crescents and a cross, all between the inscription 'Virtus Funeri Superstes Nec Temere Nec Timide' on one side, and 'Veritatem Diligente Et Pugnate Pro Patria Anno 1612' on the other, hilt cast and chased with foliated grotesque masks and comprising downbent shell-guard, downcurved rear quillon, quillon-block, knuckle-guard with central swelling, domed pommel-cap with button, and mottled rounded cowhorn grip
