A Rare German Combined Hunting Sword And 80-Bore Flintlock Pistol
Signed E. M. Wetschgi, Augspurg (sic), Circa 1725

With tapering blade double-edged towards the point, the forte etched on each side with panels of symmetrical foliage against wrigglework and plain grounds, the pistol with two-stage barrel turned at the muzzle and in front of the octagonal breech, the steel (refaced) with external spring with foliate finial and retained by a screw, silver hilt with signed scallop-shaped shell-guard cast and engraved with foliage and set with two silver stars and a silver pellet, knuckle-guard with central moulding, and white-metal grip with rounded grip-scales each veneered in tortoiseshell and set with three silver stars on one side
